Backflow Prevention & Testing questions

What is a backflow preventer?

It's a valve assembly that stops water from flowing backward through your plumbing and into the public water supply, which protects drinking water from contamination.

How often does a backflow device need testing?

Many water suppliers require testing at least once a year. Your water provider can confirm the schedule for your property.

What happens if my backflow device fails the test?

We can usually repair it by replacing worn internal parts. If the assembly is damaged or obsolete, we'll go over replacement options in a written estimate.

Do I need one on my irrigation system?

Most irrigation systems connected to a drinking water supply need a backflow device. If you're not sure about yours, we can take a look.

Is the work warranted?

Our labor is warranted for one year. Parts and equipment are covered by the manufacturer's warranty. We do not cover or offer a warranty on customer-supplied material or equipment.
