Sump Pump Installation & Repair questions
How do I test my sump pump?
Slowly pour a few buckets of water into the pit. The float should rise, the pump should turn on and empty the water, then shut off. If it doesn't, or it sounds rough, have it looked at before you need it.
How long does a sump pump last?
Most sump pumps last roughly 7 to 10 years, depending on how often they run. A pump that runs a lot wears out sooner.
Do I need a backup sump pump?
Storms that knock out power are also when sump pumps are needed most. A battery backup keeps the pit from overflowing during an outage, which is why many homeowners add one.
Why is my sump pump running all the time?
Common causes are a stuck float switch, a failed check valve letting water flow back into the pit, or a high water table. We can find out which it is.
Is the work warranted?
Our labor is warranted for one year. Parts and equipment are covered by the manufacturer's warranty. We do not cover or offer a warranty on customer-supplied material or equipment.
