Water Softeners & Filtration in Grand Junction, CO
Water softener installation, service, and whole-house filtration to protect your plumbing and appliances.
Water in much of Colorado is on the harder side, and over time the minerals leave scale on faucets and fixtures, build up inside water heaters, and shorten the life of appliances. GPS Plumbing & Mechanical installs and services water softeners and water quality systems for Grand Junction homes and businesses.
We'll talk through what you're seeing and what you'd like to fix, whether that's scale, spotting, dry skin, or taste, and recommend a system that fits your household instead of selling the biggest unit.
Serving Grand Junction, Fruita, Palisade, Clifton, Delta, Montrose, and the rest of Mesa County.

What affects the price
Prices depend on the details, so we don't quote blind. Every job gets a free written estimate before any work starts, so you know the cost up front. Diagnostics are free in the Grand Valley. Outside the Grand Valley, a $79.99 service call fee covers locations up to 50 miles from Grand Junction, plus $2 per one-way mile beyond that. The $79.99 is credited toward the work if you go ahead with the repair; the additional mileage is not credited. Here's what usually drives the cost:
- Size of the system, based on household size and water hardness
- Whether you want a softener only, or filtration as well
- Plumbing changes needed to connect and drain the system
- Ongoing salt and maintenance

Water Softener Installation questions
How do I know if I have hard water?
Chalky white scale on faucets and showerheads, spotty dishes, and soap that doesn't lather well are the usual signs. A water test gives you an actual hardness number.
Will a water softener help my water heater?
Softer water means less mineral scale building up inside a water heater, which helps it run efficiently and can help it last longer. It's one of the reasons softeners pair well with tankless units.
Does a water softener need maintenance?
Salt-based softeners need salt refilled and an occasional check of the resin and brine tank. We can service your system or set it up so it's easy to maintain yourself.
Can you service a water softener I already have?
Yes. If your softener has stopped working, or you want to move or replace it, give us a call.
Is the work warranted?
Our labor is warranted for one year. Parts and equipment are covered by the manufacturer's warranty. We do not cover or offer a warranty on customer-supplied material or equipment.
